There have been some problems found with the first release of Garmin.

*******************************************************************************
Error "System hang when downloading data"
*******************************************************************************
A bug has been found in the receiving section of the program, which
caused the program to hang, when downloading data. This occured with
some units only, but it is recommended, to use version A.01.03 in any
case.

*******************************************************************************
Error "Type mismatch" when downloading waypoints, routes or tracks.
*******************************************************************************
During download of information, the creation date of each waypoint has to be
decoded. The function used by this program very much depends on the date
setting in windows. When your date setting does not correspond to the setting
expected, the date can not be interpreted correctly. It is considered for a
later version of this program, to automatically address the current settings.
In version A.01.03 the date settings is checked at start of the program. If
this setting is not correct, one or all of following messages appear:

"Critical Error - Your Date Setting is not correct"
"Critical Error - Your Date Seperator is not correct"
"Critical Error - Your Decimal Seperator is not correct"

In this casen you should change this settings, before trying to download any
waypoint, route or track data from the GPS.

How to change the date setting:
Leave the application and select the windows main group. Run the Controlpanel
and select the icon, labeled "International". Now select Date Format - Change
and you get a screen, where the format for the Short Date can be selected.
Select the format "YMD" and make shure, that the seperator is set to the
character "-". Leave the control panel and restart Garmin Communication. The
messagebox should not appear anymore.

How to change the decimal seperator:
Leave the application and select the windows main group. Run the Controlpanel
and select the icon, labeled "International". Now select Number Format - Change
and you get a screen, where the format for the Numbers can be selected. Make
shure, that the decimal seperator is set to the character ".". Leave the
control panel and restart Garmin Communication. The messagebox should not
appear anymore.

If you download any data, without changing these settings, you will get an
error "Type mismatch" or you will have troubles editing downloaded data.

*******************************************************************************
Error "File not found" when downloading waypoints, routes and tracks.
*******************************************************************************
This error occurs when downloading waypoints, routes and tracks. There is a
windows DLL missing from your system, which has not been distributed with
former versions. The name of the DLL is MSAFINX.DLL and this file has to
reside in the \windows\system directory.

*******************************************************************************
Error Identification of the GPS is possible after some retries only or not all.
*******************************************************************************
There has been a timing problem in the receiving module which has has been
corrected with version A.01.03. When the GPS is sending data to fast, only the
first data record is detected and this might result in loss of information.
This problem could be seen with some combination of GPS and computers, but
it is recommended to use version A.01.03, which handles this problem correctly.

This version also contains more errormessages and there are two new settings
in garmin.ini for debugging purposes:

Logging=yes turns on the logging functionality, which is producing a
            	logfile garmin.log for troublshooting
GPSIdentify=no can be set, in order not to identify the GPS at start of
               	the program.
